Call for Contributions Now Open for 2024 Opening the Archives Conference
ARANZ are excited to announce the opening of the call for contributions for the upcoming joint Australian Society of Archivists (ASA), Archives & Records Association of New Zealand Te Huinga Mahara (ARANZ), and Pacific Regional Branch International Council on Archives (PARBICA) conference Opening the Archives: Access, Engagement, Innovation.
The conference will be held in Ōtautahi | Christchurch, Aotearoa | New Zealand from 22-25 October 2024.
The Conference Theme
Join us in opening the archives: share your experiences and strategies for achieving this through access, engagement or other innovative avenues.
The conference aims to bring together a wide range of views on what ‘opening’ the archives means; how this has been, or might be, achieved, and when it should not. It is also a space to explore the challenges and opportunities posed by new technologies, increased accessibility, and the acknowledgement of historical and cultural sensibilities.
Submissions
We encourage submissions from all who engage with archives: students, new professionals, experienced archivists and recordkeepers, information professionals, academics, researchers, artists, and community members.
Proposals may include:
Posters
Project show and tell
Lightning talks
Individual papers
Interactive presentations
Panels
Workshops
There are opportunities to present online or in-person.
How to Submit
Submission is via an online application.
