New ICA Project ~ Archival Solidarity

The International Council of Archives Section of Professional Associations (SPA) is undertaking a new project called Archival Solidarity. The mandate of this group is:

Archival Solidarity is a project of the ICA, which aims to co-ordinate efforts in the international archives community to carry out foreign assistance projects to develop tools and expertise for developing communities and communities in transition.

Its objectives are to:

• Share information about international projects for development and cooperation
• Facilitate international projects for development and cooperation which are responsive, practical, and well-targeted

• Initiate international projects for development and cooperation which will:
  1. work with partners to share professional information
  2. send experts to provide training and education
  3. provide expertise and/or materials to carry out archival projects

We are gathering information about what international archival outreach projects already exists or have existed in the past. Could you please contact Nancy Marrelli to let us know of any programmes or projects. Please provide us with the following information:
