About the conference
The isolation age is over. The World Wide Web, email and digital imaging have led to increased expectations from users as to the availability of resources. To bridge the gap between users’ expectations and institutional constraints, organisations are increasingly working together and collaborating to come up with realistic solutions. Internationally and nationally, organisations are setting up portals for searching multiple institutions at one time, A2A (Access to Archives - England and Wales), RAAM (Register of Archives and Manuscripts - Australia), AHRR (Australian Historic Records Register) and NRAM (National Register of Archives and Manuscripts - NZ), and developing more integrated and user-focused systems to promote access. This Conference aims to look at some of these developments, analyse results and explore future possibilities. We are planning to run two concurrent streams of papers over the two days. There will be opportunities for vendor stands and exhibits, and a pre conference day for workshops, special interest group meetings and visits.
Sponsors
The ARANZ 2008 Conference Committee gratefully acknowledges the contributions and support of our two major sponsors: Archives New Zealand and New Zealand Micrographics Services.
